V Biennial of Architecture
Brasilia, Brazil 2006
How can the safeguard of the environment be combined with new technologies, producing a contemporary habitat which is, hence, neither nostalgic, nor punitive? An increasing number of Italian designers are also working on the problem.
We have been selected them on the basis of two criterions:
−that our research tend towards innovative and experimental approaches;
−that the works reflect new forms capable of competing with European and international experiences moving in the same direction.
The Octospider building was built in Thailand by an enlightened client, wishing to qualify an industrial complex destined to the production of textiles, with a factory cafeteria realized in an exemplary manner. The artificial lake on which the building rises was obtained by recycling the water used in the manufacturing process of the textiles.
